Ross is a small incorporated town in Marin County, California, just north of San Francisco. It is a small, quaint community with a picturesque downtown, access to the incredible hiking and biking trails of Mt. Tamalpais, and warm summer weather. Historic homes and treelined streets give this community an exclusive, peaceful, elegant atmosphere. The population was 2,415 at the 2010 census. The town is bordered by Kentfield and Greenbrae to the east, Larkspur to the south and San Anselmo to the north.
Ross is named in honor of James Ross, who acquired Rancho Punta de Quentin in 1859.
